Physiotherapist


Physiotherapist helps to maintain independence and rehabilitate patients so they can have an acceptable quality of life. For example;

Helping to minimise pressure sores in those that are bed bound for long periods of time.

Helping with mobility by devising activities to improve tolerance of exercise as well as maintain mobility.

Devising exercise activities to patients because in cancer patients, fatigue is a common side effect as a result of chemotherapy and radiation treatment. This provides a method of reducing this side effec to enable patients to be able to go about their daily life. Furthermore, exercise also help maintain muscle power to prolong independence of patients

Managing pain in patients by providing massage, TENS stimulation or cold and heat stimulation.

Managing breathlessness by changing the position of patients, educating patients on breathing exercises to reduce respiratory effort and strategies to help patients manage anxiety associated with breathlessness.

Provision of splints and neck collars to support weakened muscles/ intervene with posture

Providing source of psychogical support to patients
